In this article, we'll be classifying the characters from Naruto based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality types.
Uzumaki Naruto: ENFP
Born under tragic circumstances, young Naruto resorted to pranks to gain attention from the villagers. His creative thinking is evident in his combination of the Multi-Shadow Clone technique and the Sexy Jutsu, as well as using the latter in front of a powerful enemy.
Naruto's energetic and positive nature, along with his ability to surprise others, highlights his strong Ne function. He also values his feelings and emotions (Fi), making him a determined character. Though his realistic perspectives may be lacking, his vivid dreams and goals make him captivating.
Uchiha Sasuke: INTJ
Initially driven by the goal to kill his brother Itachi, who wiped out their clan, Sasuke is known for his cool and intelligent demeanor. He occasionally shows his caring side for his teammates but is often reprimanded by Kakashi for seeking power too desperately. His elitist attitude and strategic thinking reflect his INTJ personality type.
Haruno Sakura: ESFJ
Sakura always has others in mind, wanting to protect them and become stronger. Her actions are driven by how she can influence others, giving her a grounded impression. As a medical ninja, she embodies the ESFJ personality type. Sakura is a responsible and composed character, but she also has emotional and strong-willed traits.
Sai is an introverted character with a love for reading. Due to his Root training, he struggles to understand and consider others' emotions, often unintentionally rubbing people the wrong way. His intellectual nature and occasional efforts to cooperate with Naruto showcase his INTP personality.
Hatake Kakashi: INTP
Kakashi is calm, composed, and strict, failing all his previous students in the Genin Exam. This stern nature is a result of losing his loved ones in the past. Despite his serious demeanor, Kakashi is also laid-back and goes at his own pace. His loyalty to his comrades and subdued emotional expression align with the INTP personality type.
Umino Iruka: ESFJ
Iruka's warm and emotional nature sets him apart from Kakashi. Initially, he struggled with becoming Naruto's mentor due to the loss of his parents in the Nine-Tails event. However, he gradually learns to empathize with Naruto, embodying the caring and compassionate nature of the ESFJ personality type.
Yamato takes over as Team 7's leader in Kakashi's absence. With a background in the Anbu Black Ops, Yamato is respectful towards his superiors and has a mild-mannered approach to his subordinates. His practical thinking and realistic nature align with the ISFJ personality type.
